Terms and Conditions

Abhorrent Guitars is a trading name of Alex Cook.

General Terms and Conditions for commission and sale of custom Abhorrent guitars.

1. Commission process:

1.1. The client (referred to as “the Buyer”) may request a custom handmade guitar from Abhorrent Guitars (referred to as “the Seller”).

1.2. Both parties will agree upon the guitar’s specifications, design, materials, and other relevant details.

 

2. Payment:

2.1. To secure a commission slot, the Buyer agrees to pay a non-refundable deposit, as specified in Section 3.

2.2. The remaining balance will be due upon completion of the guitar and prior to shipment. Alternatively, a payment plan may be agreed upon by both parties, as specified in Section 3.

 

3. Non-refundable deposit:

3.1. The non-refundable deposit amount will be an agreed upon percentage of the total build cost reflective of the over-all scope of the specified build.

3.2. The non-refundable deposit covers initial expenses, materials, and ensures the Buyer’s commitment to the commission.

3.3. In the event of commission cancellation by the Buyer, the non-refundable deposit will not be returned.

3.4. In the event of cancellation by Abhorrent Guitars, it is at the discretion of the seller to issue any refund based upon the circumstances of cancelation.

3.5. Any payment plan agreed upon by both parties is subject to the terms and conditions of sale, see Section 6.

 

4. Changes and customisations:

4.1. Minor design adjustments can be made during the production process, with the Seller’s approval.

4.2. Major design changes requested post-commission confirmation may result in additional costs and extended completion time.

4.3. Abhorrent Guitars withholds the right to make substitutions of any materials specified in the commission in light of supply issues or defects. 

 

5. Completion and Shipment:

5.1. The Seller will notify the Buyer upon completion of the guitar and provide photos for approval.

5.2. Upon approval, the Buyer will settle the remaining balance, including any added costs.

5.3. The Seller will ship the guitar to the Buyer’s provided address after full payment is received unless collection from the premises of Abhorrent Guitars and been specified in the commission.

 

​6. Ownership and usage:

6.1. The guitar remains the property of Abhorrent Guitars until the full payment has been cleared.

6.2. Upon receipt and full payment, the Buyer becomes the owner of the commissioned guitar.

6.3. The Seller may use images of the guitar for promotional purposes.

 

7. Quality and warranty:

7.1. The Seller guarantees the quality and workmanship of the handmade guitar.

7.2. The guitar is under warranty for 1 Year from date of final payment against defects arising from craftsmanship and materials.

 

8. Limitation of liability:

8.1. The Seller is not liable for shipping damage or improper usage of the guitar.

8.2. The Seller’s responsibility is limited to repairing or replacing parts covered under warranty.

8.3. Any warranty offered by the seller becomes invalid upon sale to a third party by the Buyer..

 

9. Governing law:

9.1. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of The UK.

 

10. Import taxes and duties:

10.1. Abhorrent Guitars is not responsible for any import taxes, customs duties, or other fees that may be imposed by the recipient’s country during the delivery of our products. It is the sole responsibility of the Buyer to be aware of and cover any applicable import taxes or duties.

In the event that import taxes, customs duties, or any other fees are assessed by the recipient’s country, Abhorrent Guitars will not be liable for these charges. Any additional charges incurred due to customs regulations or import requirements are the Buyer’s responsibility.

By placing an order with Abhorrent Guitars, the Buyer acknowledges and agrees that they are responsible for any import taxes, customs duties, or related fees that may be incurred upon delivery of the product.

Abhorrent Guitars recommends that Buyers familiarise themselves with their country’s import regulations and potential charges before placing an order. If you have any questions regarding customs duties or import taxes, we encourage you to seek information from your local customs authorities.
